About Us
Bridge55 first opened its doors in November 2001 in Bridgnorth under the ownership of life time friends Andy Southall (me!) and Craig Drescher. A gap in the market for affordable mens designer clothing was quickly capitalised on.
Craig had lived in the town for a number of years and I had previously been an owner in a local bar and this combination meant we understood what people were looking for.
Enjoying a very successful first 2 years the business was able to open a second store in nearby Kidderminster. Early days in Kidderminster proved to be very challenging with many people warning of the pitfalls of the decision. However, after important lessons were learnt the store began to grow, enjoying 40% growth in its third year and has now proved to be a big hit in the area.
The Kidderminster store was quite some building project, involving gutting a disused bingo hall, (and I mean gutting!) and converting it into a modern, contemporary layout with all glass frontage. The store would now happily grace the high street of any major town.
Owner Craig Drescher left the business in 2005 as he continued to pursue his career in the model car racing field within which he has become world famous and a European champion.
Growth has seen the business invest in people with Carly, Dan and Richard having joined over the last 3 years as the battle between increasing turnover and overheads brings new challenges. James also worked for 3 years as store manager before moving on.
The brand portfolio has increased also over the years and now includes G-star raw, Henley’s, Duck and Cover, Gio-Goi, Diesel and Bench to name but a few.
The website was first launched in 2006 and anyone who has owned an e-commerce business will testify just what a challenge in-terms of finance and hours this can be.
Having achieved a foot hold in the market a brand new site was launched in 2008. This investment in e-commerce totals more than turnover and represents a statement of our intent to establish ourselves as a key online retailer of mens designer clothing and fashion.
We now have a website and high levels of customer service we can truly be proud of. Hope you agree...

Meet Our Team
Bridge55 is a customer friendly, growing business with high aspirations, building from a great reputation for personal service.
Andy Southall (Owner)
Having run Bridge55 since 2001 Andy is very ‘hands on’ and is involved in just about every aspect of the business. Being the owner means being a fire fighter and wherever there is a problem from the alarm going off to arguing with creditors, he’s there. Often seen networking with a beer in his hand at fashion shows in Barcelona, his drive is to see Bridge55.com establish itself as the 10th biggest mens designer clothing online retailer in its sector, famous for personal customer service.
Carly Ryall (Kidderminster)
Carly is one of our leading sales staff. Beware she will have you spending money in our Kidderminster store before you know what’s happened. Always bright and bubbly, she will gladly answer your calls should you need any advice on our website. She is known for always walking in to things and has exclusivity on the bridge55 first aid kit!
Dan Mazurek (Internet)
Dan is the red bull king and is rarely seen without an energy drink of some kind. His focus is the website, ensuring high standards of online customer service and making sure the correct goods reach you on time.
Often seen working right up to the bell to ensure even late orders are despatched the same day.
Gemma Shakespeare (Bridgnorth)
Gemma looks after our Bridgnorth store and is our top merchandiser and trend aficionado .
Her love of all things fashion plays second fiddle only to her love of horses and pets of which she has far too many to mention.
Charlie Connolly (Kidderminster)
Since joining in 2010, Charlie has developed into a key member of staff. Based in our Kidderminster store he is also our chief copywriter and all round Mr nice guy.
The ladies may also like to note he is also known to model on our website!
Tom Wilkes (Kidderminster)
Fact fans Tom is also a drummer in a band! He is also a key competitor with Dan in the Red Bull addiction stakes. A keen and willing learner, Tom has a great understanding of all aspects of Bridge55.
Kat Lowe (Bridgnorth and Kidderminster)
Kat joined Bridge55 in 2009 and is a very busy lady, jugling her work responsibilites at her family pub with roles at Bridge55 and Next home. She provides valuable support in all areas of the business, but perhaps her biggest challenge is keeping our very own Dan in line!
